Eight hedge stumps running down a 1m side path between the house and the boundary fence — no room for a tracked machine. Each stump was ground below grade, roots chased along the line, and the strip raked flat so new planting or a path could go straight in.

A huge multi-tonne stump left after a shelter-belt removal — well beyond a walk-behind machine. The tracked grinder was brought in, the stump and root plate chased right out, and the whole pad levelled with the grindings heaped clear for the owner to use as mulch.

Plenty of North Shore back yards can only be reached down a flight of stairs or a bush track. The narrow-access grinder is wheeled, not tracked, so it can be walked down steps and through a 900mm gate to reach stumps a truck or tracked machine will never get to.
